Not many people know what it takes to put a tomato on your plate.

This morning, I was invited to come to Mills River and discuss the damage done by our recent weather event. Crop damage is pretty bad. Tomatoes, corn, and other crops suffered losses. The efforts of our agricultural community cannot be under estimated or under appreciated. We all need food. The shortage of labor is threatening the future of our domestic food supply. I learned much about what the needs are and what can be done with a little common sense. The image below is to illustrate what should be full boxes of produce that now will remain empty. There are things that can be done with proper leadership. We must realize that labor shortages are going to create food shortages eventually. The situation can be remedied. I have listened, learned, and am prepared to go to battle for all of our food producers.
