Monopoly is not a good thing

In any industry or eco system, a monopoly is not a good thing. A better system should have options, opposing views, and diversity of thought. Presently, in our county, we have a monopoly in our governance. Our County commission is made up of members 100% democrat. The Sherriff, the District Attorney, the County Manager, the city council and the Mayor are all democrats. The list goes on throughout our local government. I am not saying that democrats are bad. What I am saying is that a monopoly of thought (group think) is not the best way to govern. With all the talk about equity and inclusion, it seems odd to me that there is no inclusion in our local government for those with opposing viewpoints. It is their way or the highway. This November, you can remedy this by electing people who can bring diverse and differing views to what is presently a one sided, group think government. Even if you don't like either political party, you have at least 2 candidates for county commission who are unaffiliated. I am one of them.
