Some people think conservatives don’t care about the environment. I beg to differ. As far back as 1978, energy conservation was important to me. At Cornell, I conducted Energy Audits for hotels long before the practice became established.
As owner of Pisgah Inn, I have constantly looked for ways to implement good environmental stewardship and energy conservation. To this day, the "greening" of my business continues. Solar panels, waterless urinals, electric vehicles, and our quirky “french fry” vehicle powered by waste oil from our kitchen are a few examples.
As Kermit the frog would say, “It ain't easy being green”…but it is rewarding.
