How not to balance a city budget.

The Mayor has stated that there will be no tax increase this budget year and that the budget will be balanced by taking millions of dollars from the reserve fund. I believe this is irresponsible.  Promising not to raise taxes in order to make political points is bad enough. Raiding our reserve fund is worse. Then, she stated that we should be prepared for a large tax increase next year.

The idea that this is good fiscal policy is not going to fly with the tax payers. I give them more credit than the Mayor apparently does. Cutting wasteful spending and focusing our spending on what matters most is better fiscal policy.
